The professional divers from British Cave Research Association supported by Oxalis Adventure have just come back from their diving expedition in the underground river inside Son Doong – the world’s largest cave. What they have found is shocking!
About this diving expedition: A team of British divers have dived the terminal sump of Hang Son Doong with support from Oxalis. In extremely challenging conditions, the sump was dived to a depth of -77m making it the deepest cave dive in Vietnam. The cave was also extended by a further 60m despite the difficulties of route finding in very poor visibility and the significant depths.
About the diving team: Oxalis Adventure and The British Vietnam Caving Expedition Team have collaborated with the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park Management Board to invite the cave diving experts to join in this exclusive expedition. All the invitees belong to the top 50 greatest cave diving experts in the world. The diving exploration team includes: Team Leader: Mr. Martin Holroyd – British Vietnam Caving Expedition Team specialist, 03 members who have contributed to the rescue of the Wild Boar football team in Tham Luang, Chiang Rai, Thailand in 2018: Mr. Rick Stanton, Mr. Jason Mallinson and Mr. Chris Jewell. The team will also be accompanied by Ms. Laura Jewell, the diving equipment coordinator for this expedition.
